Waste Awareness Wales plays Cupid!
19 Jan 2007
With Saint Dwynwen’s Day and Saint Valentine’s Day fast approaching, Waste Awareness Wales is playing Cupid by encouraging people to show some love to the environment as well as with their loved ones by sending e-cards.
Around 24 million Valentine’s Day cards are sent in the
The e-cards boast bilingual messages and are available to send via the Waste Awareness Wales’ website – www.wasteawarenesswales.org.uk.
Councillor Richard Parry Hughes, Chairperson for Waste Awareness Wales, commented on how little changes to your routine can make such a difference.
"In our desire to show affection to our loved ones, we can create a lot of additional waste by sending traditional paper cards and buying presents which have excess packaging. Sending an e-card instead is a quick and convenient way of sending a message to that special someone in your life.
"Our Christmas e-cards have proven so popular that we have decided to extend the choice available by designing some special e-cards that could be sent to celebrate Saint Dwynwen’s Day and Valentine’s Day. By sending these out to your loved ones, not only will you be sending a special greeting to your partner but you’ll also be sharing a little love with the environment!"
