How do I know what I can recycle?
60% of your household waste can be recycled, and some materials are easier to recycle than others; the most common types of recyclable material found in your bin are paper, glass, metal and plastic.
Other recyclable materials include fabric and organic waste such as vegetable peelings.
Waste such as garden chemicals, old fluorescent tubes and old batteries are not as easy to recycle and should be disposed of at your council Civic Amenity site. Contact your Council Waste Team for advice on what they collect for recycling.
